AWARD WINNERS  

Erith Playhouse won five awards at the Arts Council of Bexley’s annual awards on Saturday 24th Sept, fighting off stiff competition from the borough’s other theatres.

 

Feed - a play about aging music hall star, Harry Troop, re-living his past in a nursing home - was judged the best production and went on to win two further awards for technical achievement and best male actor for its leading character played by Tony Bate. The Sound of Music also won two awards

The awards were given too:

Wilson Trophy for Best Actor - Tony Bate for his portrayal of Harry Troop in Feed.
Erith Trophy for Best Production - Feed, directed by Lesley Robins
Certificate of Merit for Best Production - Sound of Music, directed by Jean Franks
The Kentish Times Trophy for Technical Achievement - Graeme Horner for his set design for Feed
Certificate of Merit for Musical Excellence - Sound of Music

The award ceremony was held at the Rose Theatre, Rose Bruford College, Sidcup.
