Featuring songs like the fabulous "Flash, Bang, Wallop" and "Half a Sixpence", this is the perfect escape for the summer.

Essentially a love story about Kipps, an orphan apprentice, and his childhood sweetheart, Ann. But the path of love does not run smoothly. Kipps comes into an unexpected fortune which goes to his head as he tries to move into a higher social circle. He returns to his roots with a happy ending!

First presented in the West End in 1963, it was also made into a film starring Tommy Steel. "Half a Sixpence" was last presented at Erith Playhouse in 1980. Twenty One years later we have eight people involved in this version who contributed back then. Although most of these members have matured into different roles, Audrey Christensen is playing the same part of Mrs Botting.
