Cinderella
by Christine Angell

4 - 18 January 2003

Once upon a time there was a beautiful, fun-loving girl called Cinderella. Poor Cinderella - she had a really hard time having to do all the housework in the big house, having to be at the beck and call of her hateful ugly stepsisters - Lavinia and Letitia. Cinderella has two true friends, Buttons and Mistress Hermione.

From Left to Right: Lavinia (David Maun), Hermione (Tony Bate) and Letitia (Phil Pearce)

Cinderella (Nichola Bate) and Buttons (Ian Humphreys)

The Prince has his own problems, not least the fact he really cannot find a girl to marry - well at least not one who hasn't been hit by the ugly stick! His good friend, Danidini has to keep the Prince on the straight and narrow.

Prince (Emma Stewart), Dandini (Debbie Cain) and the Chorus

Mix all this together with a Fairy Godmother who gets the occasional spell wrong, a couple of hilarious villains and the extremely talented boys and girls of the chorus and you had simply the best pantomime of 2003 - Cinderella.

Ron (Steve Hunt), Fairy Godmother (Nikki Hudson) and Ron (Michael Bate)

Old and young, came to Hiss and Boo and sing along. The story was a classic and the characters were larger than life, and twice as funny.

Cinderella (Nichola Bate) with her Pink Poodles (Emma Holland and Suzie Pearce)

The entire cast of Cinderella
