This stage adaptation of Graham Greene’s novel of retired bank worker Henry Pulling and his eccentric Aunt Augusta was first presented at the Citizens’ Theatre, Glasgow, in 1989, with a cast of four actors playing all 24 characters.


Christine Angell, John Hart, Graeme Horner and Jo Lovell play the 24 characters: Hattie Pulling, Aunt Augusta, Wordsworth, Miss Keene, Det. Sgt. Sparrow, Hattie, Tooley, O’Toole, Mr Visconti, Col.
